We have made PDF downloads available via our website for our readers who do not have an iOS device, and these PDF files are completely separate from the issues available on iOS. When you subscribe on iPad/iPhone, the issues will be delivered to your iOS device in a format optimized for that platform. When you purchase a PDF, you receive a download link to download the PDF onto your computer.
If you want to get PDF issues in addition to getting them via our app on iPad/iPhone, you will need to purchase the PDF downloads separately.

The following questions are about The Dirt app on iPad and iPhone. If you have questions about PDF downloads from our website, please see the PDF downloads section.
As of August 2017, six-month subscriptions are no longer available. To continue receiving The Dirt on Organic Gardening magazine on a monthly basis, we invite you to subscribe to a one-month subscription. This subscription will automatically bill you each month and deliver The Dirt magazine to you, as it did with your six-month subscription.
If you don’t have your phone connected to a wireless internet service (Wifi) it can take what seems like forever to download. Make sure your internet connection is on, then try again.
A subscription gives you access to the current issue of The Dirt, and a certain number of future issues depending on your subscription level. A subscription doesn’t include access to past issues. If you want past issues, you would need to purchase those individually.
YES! The Dirt is still available through Apple for iPads, iPhones and iPod Touches. And now you can also buy single issues in PDF format to download onto your computer.
We are also exploring other delivery platforms. If you want to get all The Dirt news as soon as it’s available, get on our mailing list.
Apple has a great site that provides step-by-step instructions for debugging crashes. Click here to visit.
You can do so, as long as you are signed in on both devices with the same Apple ID, The Dirt should automatically appear on each. Also note on the navigation page that The Dirt is available in two formats—one designed for easier reading on an iPhone, and one specifically for iPad. For more information on how to sign in with your Apple ID, see this help page on the Apple site.
This is something that can happen due to a connection error between the iPad and the Apple servers.

This can happen when Apple was unable to charge you for purchases with the payment method you specified. See this Apple help page for information on resolving this issue.
Please note that The Dirt does not have, or have access to, anything resembling an “Account Number” that relates to your subscription; this is entirely an Apple-generated message. If you continue to have this problem after updating your payment method, contact us using the form below and we will try to help you out with the problem.
Tap on the yellow subscribe button, then tap “Restore All Purchases” (you must be logged in with the same Apple ID used to subscribe or purchase magazine originally). Apple will restore your purchases.
Currently, The Dirt is available only for iOS devices. We are considering making it available for Android if there is enough demand. If you want to read The Dirt on Android, please drop us a line with the form at the end of this page.
The subscribe/unsubscribe process is handled through Apple; The Dirt cannot cancel your subscription for you directly.
If you have a one-month subscription, please see this Apple support page for information on managing your app subscriptions, including unsubscribing.
If you have a six-month subscription, you will be unable to cancel this subscription in the usual way; it won’t appear as an option when you follow Apple’s instructions because we no longer offer this type of subscription (see “I can’t renew my six-month subscription” above for details). However, your six-month subscription will cancel automatically at the end of the six-month period. so there is no need to cancel it manually.
